So smoothie bowls… These are such a fun way to get all that fresh produce you should be eating into your body right at the start of the day. All three of these recipes are super easy, starting with the same base and then customised. None of them have super wacky ingredients, just good old whole ingredients that can be found and made really quickly. I love decorating smoothie bowls, there’s something weirdly therapeutic about it! But you don’t have to decorate them at all, you could simply have them as they are or throw it all on top! Keep reading for the 3 recipes!

how can I find the carb count on these bowls? I’m looking for low carb breakfast choices, having diabetes sucks, I’ve been doing chia seed pudding cups with almond milk and lots of different fruits, but they raise my sugar too much. I love these bowls but the banana alone would raise my sugar too much, what else can be added in place of the banana and almond butter?

I like using My Fitness Pal to get the macro’s on recipes, you can plug in all the ingredients and it will give you a breakdown of everything, calories, carbs, sugars etc.

Hmmm, I would maybe suggest ice cubes in place of the banana as that will keep the thickness. It will take away a little of the sweetness if you leave it out and creaminess so maybe I would add a little extra unsweetened almond milk (or any other plant milk you prefer). For the almond butter, I think it would be fine to just leave this out, or reduce the amount used.

Hope that helps! Let me know if you try it out :D

thanks, I like the ice cube idea, I thought you would use the banana for sweetness, so I thought using both the butter and banana would make it too sweet for me, I will for sure play with these ideas you have here, they looks so good, I can’t wait to try them out at home.

I am such a fan of smoothie bowls, whenever I have a bit of extra time in the mornings I’ll switch my boring bowl of cereal for a smoothie bowl with some coconut, nuts and berries. Yours all look absolutely gorgeous, and sound so tasty! x
